New schools in India
An aid project with perspective
In addition to renovating schools and building sports facilities, the focus is primarily on building new schools. In this way we can increase the educational offerings, give even more children access to them and also create jobs for women in schools. This not only contributes to the economic strengthening of families, but also promotes equality and social progress in society. Currently, many children in India have no opportunity to attend a school.
The reasons for this are varied and range from financial constraints to a lack of infrastructure in remote areas. Building new schools creates an important basis for closing this educational gap and offering children equal opportunities. By investing together in the construction of new schools, we are helping to improve the future opportunities for India’s children and advance the country’s development.

POOTHURAI
Built in 2015
The old school in the coastal village, like many other buildings, was destroyed by the flood. Reconstruction was out of the question. Our club managed to build a new, beautiful school from the ruins within four weeks. The building was also immediately equipped with school desks, sleeping mats, teaching and activity materials. The children also received a spacious playground.

Built in 2017
This is now the third school that our organisation has opened in the tsunami region of Tamil Nadu. The project was a logistical and financial challenge. This is because the available land borders directly on the sea. To protect it from the water, the site had to be filled in before construction could begin and an electricity pylon had to be moved following authorisation procedures. But the effort was worth it, as the beaming faces of the children who proudly took possession of their new school testify.

PALLOM
Built in 2018
The small school in Pallom was the first for which a new building was realised with donations mainly from the Osnabrück region. Previously, many children were taught in the open air or not at all. Due to the densely built-up village, there were hardly any opportunities to build a sufficiently large school and the building quickly became too small.
With the help of “Ein Herz für Kinder” (“A Heart for Children”), a new two-storey building was erected after a great deal of commitment.

VALLAVILAI
Built in 2020
Until now, there was not a real school in the densely populated coastal village of Vallavillai. The children sit out in the open as long as the weather permits. The new school building brings a sign of hope to the village, which has been plagued by flooding. A large outdoor area, which will also serve as a playground for the children outside school hours and as a meeting place for parents, will create new prospects.

AMBALATHUMOOLA
Built in 2022
After initial obstacles and setbacks, Positive Power for Children finally made progress. A rich man offered his property, which is also better protected from flooding due to its location. Like all our projects, the school was equipped with hygienic tiled sanitary facilities, running water, a kitchen and a large playground.

ADIMALATHURA
Built in 2023
As sufficiently large plots of land are in short supply in the coastal region, the organisation entered new territory by Indian standards and planned a two-storey building that could accommodate two schools. The initial scepticism of the residents gave way to enthusiasm and the desire to build a similar school with two floors in the neighbouring village.
